Has it ever crossed your mind that your management company isn’t providing the services you thought you’d get?…

If yes, have you thought about why that thought crossed your mind?

There may be a number of reasons why you feel this way including the obvious which is…. you’re not receiving the service. However, there may be other reasons for you to consider, such as:

You are kept in the dark about visits: The majority of contractors used will be on some sort of schedule whether it’s weekly, fortnightly or set dates during the year.

It may simply be that the contractors are adhering to their schedule but due to the adverse weather, the grass and shrubs are growing quicker than anticipated and may need an additional visit, for example.

Not sure what the contractors do on their visits: The majority of contractors used, will be issued with a specification during the tendering process which sets out exactly what they need to do on each visit.

It might be that the contractors are doing what they quoted for but your expectations are higher.

You assume that somebody else has reported it: We’ve all done it, noticed an issue on the way to the car but either forgot about it until you see it again when you return home or assume your neighbour or the cleaner will report it for you. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen.

Whilst your management company can ask contractors to report issues on their visits or even carry out site inspections themselves; residents are in the best position to let their management company know of any issues noticed as you are there on a daily basis.
